![]() Like its predecessor, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is a first-person survival horror game where players are confronted with all sorts of scary monsters and you. The game would have been better as a novel. For the uninitiated, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is the indirect sequel to the popular horror game Amnesia: The Dark Descent, which was developed by The Chinese Room and Frictional Games. All this to say that A Machine for Pigs is a sad case, as the gameplay pulls the experience so far down while the story possesses moments of true greatness. By the end, I was running at full speed, not perturbed in the slightest by the "danger". This is practically a walking simulator, and the "danger" zones where one could actually meet some fail state on account of an obstacle or enemy is so few and far between that the jump scares in between come off as cheap and ineffective. The gameplay in place is a hollow husk, and it is does not serve the story or atmosphere better without any mechanics. Most of the gameplay mechanics (inventory, sanity, etc.) from The Dark Descent have been removed and I am not so sure why. Download About This Game This world is a Machine. It will bury its snout into your ribs and it will eat your heart. ![]() ![]() In fact, the story is close to being great, while the gameplay and presentation is a little stilted. Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs Free Download From the creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Dear Esther comes a new first-person horrorgame that will drag you to the depths of greed, power and madness. In lieu of Amensia: The Dark Descent's great success, this game seems like a failure, though taken out of that context, it is merely okay.
